Auto Skills features four bays and three lifts with tools and equipment for do-it-yourself automotive repair, engine diagnostics, suspensions components replacement, tire mounting and balancing and general maintenance. Cost: Active duty, dependents, retirees $6.00 per hour. All others, $7.00 per hour, includes one bay, tools, equipment and fluid disposal.

All New Busch Gardens Williamsburg Military Annual Pass

All military and family members and DoD civilians are eligible to purchase. Valid for unlimited admission to Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Water Country USA and Busch Gardens Williamsburg’s Christmas Town on regularly scheduled operating days through December 31. Pass includes general parking. Cost: $98.50

Old Glory on Wood Painting

June 27 from 6 – 8:30 p.m.

Location: Gray’s Landing

Paint the American flag on wood for a piece of patriotic artwork for your home, inside or outside! Open to all with base access, 15+. Register at Craftech by June 21. Cost: $30

Lady Bug Bowling Ball Yard Art

July 19 & 26 from 4 – 6 p.m.

Paint a ladybug bowling ball and brighten up your yard or garden! This is a two-day class. Register at Craftech by July 6. Space is limited. Cost: $25

Location: Solomons Rec Center, Solomons, MD

Event includes a scavenger hunt, arts and crafts, how to set up a tent and build a campfire, beginner stand up paddle lessons, an outdoor movie, tie-dye and s’mores! Check-in is in at 5 p.m. on June 22 and check-out is 11 a.m. on June 24. Cost: $20 per person (ages 3 and under are free), includes tent, lantern, all meals, activities and Saturday leisure passes

Bring your co-workers to the Parade Field for ice cream, yard games, music, and exhibits featuring “a century of innovation”. The Dahlgren Fitness Center is also hosting a Tropical Island 5K at 11 a.m. Register to walk/run in the 5K until 10:50 a.m. race day and finish with some ice cream!

Craftech offers a variety of services including framing and matting, engraving on plaques, metals, glassware, leather, stone and more, embroidery, flag and shadow boxes, Tiffany style stained glass, fusing, bottle slumping and firing.

Handball Tournament – July 26 at 4:30 p.m. at the Basketball Court. Must have 10 players. Register by July 16. Cost: Active-duty, Free. All others, $5.00

Disc Golf Tournament – July 28 at 9:30 a.m. at the Disc Golf Field. Must have 12 players. Register by July 18. Cost: Active-duty, Free. All others, $5.00

Accumulate points in June. Awards for top male and female competitors for max weight, max reps and overall champions. June: Do as many push-ups, pull-ups and sit-ups. Cost: Free

Any and everyone can participate in this MWR Iron Challenge! Accumulate miles for swimming, running and biking all month long and make this goal a reality. Already a competitive pro? Complete the MWR Iron Competition on Friday, June 1 to receive a special prize. Cost: Free

First ten cyclists to accumulate 400 miles will receive a prize. Mileage can be obtained around NSF Dahlgren, by attending an indoor cycle class or utilizing a stationary bike. Outdoor mileage is accepted. Record your miles with a Fitness Center staff member. 1-hour spin class = 20 miles. Open to all with base access. Register by July 1. Cost: Free

Swimmers that track their laps Memorial Day through the end of September will receive prizes at miles 25, 50, 75 and 100.

Summer Open Rec Swim: Welcome Summer Luau

Join us at the Aquatics Center as we welcome summer with a luau celebration! Food will be served at $5 per plate. Regular admission rates apply.

Curl up with a furry friend and read them a story! The General Library will hold Paws for Reading the second Tuesday of every month and give young readers the opportunity to read to their four-legged companion. Early Literacy at your Library

The Dahlgren General Library offers early literacy sessions for your baby and child, with songs, books, and activities that encourage early literacy development. Storytime and crafts will be geared toward babies and children under age 5. Siblings are always welcome to attend. Our Friday storytimes are a great way to meet other caregivers in the area. Sensory Sensitive Saturdays

Tubing the Rappahannock River

June 23 Depart at 11 a.m.

Go on a Liberty trip the Fredericksburg and enjoy the afternoon tubing on the Rappahannock River. Cost: $10

Guys’ Night In: Pool Tournament
