MARLBORO — Apex Entertainment is expanding.
The company, which opened in Marlboro in 2017, is opening its third location in Albany, New York.
The Albany Times Union and Albany Business Review reported Apex would open in the 50,000-square-foot Lucky Strike Social location at the Crossgates Mall. A 110 Grill, which is a sister business, just opened in the mall, according to the mall’s website.
George Aronstein, director of operations, declined to comment Tuesday afternoon. The company recently opened its second location at the Destiny Mall in Syracuse, New York.
Mr. Aronstein previously said plans call for building more than a dozen in coming years — one or two a year if the right locations open up.
The company brought in some top talent to help run the business and offers growth opportunities for employees. The Marlboro location has about 150 employees with 120 in Syracuse, Mr. Aronstein said.
The 80,000-square-foot Marlboro complex features an arcade, bowling, bumper cars, go-kart racing, laser tag, a ropes course and sports simulators. The Pit Stop Tavern, a 600-seat restaurant, serves local beers, specialty cocktails, burgers and what’s dubbed New England’s largest pretzel.
The Marlboro location features 30 bowling lanes, both 10-pin and candlepin. Space is also leased in its Marlboro building to Altitude Trampoline Park, Half Axe (ax throwing), Breakout and Mindtrek Virtual Reality.
The Syracuse location, in the Destiny Mall, does not include go-karts. It’s unknown what the Albany location will include.
